Update on Maxine........we are letting her out of "prison" for daytime rendezvous...mixed reviews from other kitties.....she is great and backs off from any aggression of the resident cats...We are controlling Sam with the canned air.....but am amazed that Jif, Cassi and Skip are the worst hissers and growlers....hopefully all will settle in a week or two...

UPDATE...we let her out for all day and last night....we were just about to sleep and then heard lots of hissing, growling and then tons of feet noise trying to get traction on the hardwood floor......we both bolted up and searched and saw nothing.....so it was over before we got up, but when you are just falling asleep and it's dark, it sounded a lot scarier than it was.......

Cats and children. Maxine is a smart kitty. I hope the others accept her soon. I know it has to be tough on you to have to discipline Sam. Hang in there. (with the canned air)

I don't know! My two are brother and sister and have always lived together and still do that! Bud picks on Sissy until she lets him have it. Good luck. Nan W

Our old sisters which all 3 are 20yrs old are just in the past few years getting along........They hissed and swatted at each other since the first day we brought them inside and they are all of the same litter........weird how they can be, huh?

I don't know if you are interested or even if it will help, but there is a product called Feliway that we used once. It's introduced like a plug in air freshener and is supposed to have a calming influence on cats. It did not have an odor that we could smell, so was not offensive to humans. Anyway, I'm sure they will work it out in time. Thank you for all the tender care you give our furry little friends.
