This was like 3 weeks ago but theres been so much to do. I made the free ith pencil case project from hatch and put the inspire design from somebody on here on it. I thought some of the pencil case instructions were weird... like having to press the quarter inch on your fabric before putting it on? So i added lines to stitch the piece down wherr the fold needed to be so you could just fold it the other way and have it be easy and perfect. Turning it right side out with the vinyl was fun. I forgot to put the zipper pull to the middlr before running the last step to sew it all together, and i had to cut the seam back open a little bit to fix it and ended up just topstitching around the whole thing. It was for my mom cause shes a teacher aid

Love the design. Am sure your mom will love it. Have not been lucky with this design, too hard to turn the fabric. opening is too small on top, but cute. You did a great job.

Nice job, even considering the challenges...not sure I like being able to see the embroidery on the back through the clear vinyl....I think Hatch needs to rethink their design...

Your embroidery design is from Vicki, AKA Basketkase. It is still available for free from her website. Isn't she wonderful! Thank you Vicki.
Your project turned out quite nicely in spite of your problems, but I also agree with dragonflyer. I think I would add a backing piece to the front after stitching the design to cover up the back of the design that is visible through the vinyl.

Good job. We learn by our mistakes don't we. Bet next time you leave the zipper open. I've done the same thing , so now I always remember about the zip/Lillian
