not at all but do pay attention to the directions. my first 2 went in the trash can. The pocket and flaps sew first on wash away then you add the main fabric underneath.

yes. all done in the hoop. 2 hoopings. 1 for the front and 1 for the back, you also need to use wash away stabilizer
