Hi Cuties, I have been busy but Monday, when I had Nora we sewed her dolls a pillow and pillowcase. I have to say I cut everything out, because she is still having trouble with even small scissors. Her hands are just too small.

So, she had fun making the pillow, as you can see in the first photos. They are kinda blurred, as she was working non-stop, stuffing her pillow. She sewed it up and she likes cutting the thread, on the side of machine.
I'm sorry I don't have any photos of her sewing the case. I guess I forgot, as I was explaining to her how to roll up the fabric like the sausage and pinning it altogether. Then we took it in the family room, to show Papaw how she pulled it out like magic, you know how I mean.
Anyway, I thought it came out cute, but she was upset. After she sewed the end and side seam, I showed her how the pillow went inside. She was upset because it has a hole in the end!-lol- I tried to explain, you have to have one end open, to put the pillow in!
She still didn't like that, even when I showed her my bed pillows. It took her a while to finally try it under her dolls head.-lol- Then I thought, she must have wanted an envelope opening in the back, so both ends are closed.
Oh well, I thought then, I may rethink about teaching her at this age, if she gets that upset.-lol
Wishing the best, for all of you Cuties-Toogie

She is a mess,Lillian.... She started this thing about crying, every time she has to go home. She wants to stay with 'Gram". I don't say she can stay, because really I NEED her to go home. Also, I don't want her to think crying will get her way with things.

Thanks for shareing Nora's photographs, never too young to learn. Hope you are able to keep her interest in sewing, and she continues to have fun and enjoy as she grows to progress in such a great way as her dear grannie. Sandra

Great Day! I agree with the rest of the Cuties...never too young if they are interested and you can hold their attention...how about putting a couple of Kam Snaps on the end of the pillow case...that would help solve the trauma...

lol-have you ever used yours???!!!
I showed her after she sewed the first side seam on the pillow, how it opened up flat and the two pieces were now one, and so on. Guess when it came to the pillowcase it was hard for her to understand and with the sausage method, I couldn't really show her beforehand, However, I THOUGHT she had seen someone put a pillowcase on a pillow before!-lol

What a sweetie! I am amazed that she is taking to sewing at such a young age. Lots of years to get to be as good as you! I love these pictures and reading your stories.
