I think they look great either way, however a bit less 'cluttered' when they are just looped through the eyelet. If it's easier that way as well, then I'd go for that...however!...I'm not now, have never been and am never likely to be a dancer, and they may well prefer having the laces more in their proper place :)

Both are lovely...but I do like the "tied"...perhaps you could make a small slit or buttonhole on each side of each shoe and slide the ribbon down through from the top on one side, under and up the other side and then through the loop at the top...just spit-balling here...

I like the cleanness of the simplified & the actual 3D of the ribbons attached, though bottom line is if these are too fiddly for YOU to want to do, then holy cow can you imagine the messages for help that you will get when other less experienced stitchers try stitching them, when they tend to not read instructions or are attempting these for a first time project, those thoughts alone would make me stick to the simplified. Even offering both so people could choose, there would still likely be many messages. If you are going to make any changes I like the idea long the line that Kim suggested, a small slit on either side that people who did want the ribbons that they could add them through the slit themselves without needing to have them stitched. Hope all the different ideas actually help and not make your decision even harder. They are adorable and young and old ballerina's will love them. Pam

I'm no expert on ballet shoes personally but from a personal standpoint I much prefer the display of the pair on the left. I just think that the left pair look so much neater (and since the idea is the display of a pair of ballet shoes not being worn, then the laces would be undone). But they are both beautiful as per all of your work Meganne (get out of jail free card for me....lol)

I really like both versions. I know my ballerinas would love them too.
The left ones would be great for bookmarks, ballet bag zip pull or key fobs as the ribbons would not catch. The ones on the right would look cute as a hanging decoration.

Depending on how the ballet slippers are going to be used, it would be nice to have both options available.

If I were doing the ones on the right, I'd tape the ribbons down with my paper tape. That being said, I like the ones on the left.

I think they are lovely Meganne! I prefer the ribbon in the hole since the ribbon on the right covers up so much of the slipper. ~hugs~

I prefer the left But both are perfect.Either would be beautiful on a Christmas tree.
