I'm looking for a mug rug design that isn't rectangular or round, can be done without wording, and is done ith. Does anyone know of a site that has designs like this? I don't want to spend a lot, but it's time for me to start those quick Christmas gifts. I've done a Google image search and I'm just not taken with any I've found yet. Thank you in advance.

So, do you want square or what shape?

I'm thinking oval or even egg-shaped. Thanks so much

What shape do you want. San Francisco stitch has a lot of mug rugs. Maybe you would find one there. Kay

This is the site that came to mind, and they have other mug mat options also. I will also be watching for others ideas. Pam

here is a nice oval shape, in the hoop and sews out about 7x9. A nice size and you can add your own designs, also add fabrics to suit your mood. Get it while it on sale for only $1.00 and get the free pumpkin coaster too while there Both fit a 5x7 hoop

I have just been in and purchased the oval one from Kreative Kiwi. Also bought the Animal Coasters and Bathroom Buddies. Got the 3 for $2 What a bargain. Pity my machines are packed away and I cannot sew them out. I guess I will almost live in my sewing room when we move. Have to make up for lost time. hehehe Hugs

Not ITH but could be made smaller to be used as mug rug.

I just looked at this design, and love it. In fact, I have the Quilt in a Day tree skirt for my Christmas tree made very similarly. Thanks--I'm learning to look at things with an eye for other possibilities.

I find that most frames can be used for mug rugs. Mug rug frames are made using applique techinques, but so are some frames. So I look at a frame and inspect it in my software to see if it is suitable for mug or not.

I haven't had much experience with frames. But I'll start looking at them in a different light now. Thanks!

I found a few mug rug designs that I like, and it turns out that every design that I looked at happened to be rectangular after all. Kreative Kiwi had some that I purchased and am excited to try out. And, super sale on them. Thanks to all that responded.
