How I love the suburbs of Johannesburg at this time of the year. Looking forward to seeing the Jacarandas for myself when I fly there next Wednesday for ten days.

How beautiful, my tree will be out soon. They are in 🌺 down here in Newcastle too. We have a town here too that has a Jacaranda festival every year. My problem is that ours over hangs our driveway and when it rains the flowers become very slippery as they drop down and I've slipped a few times!!!!!! I love this picture Sarah, luv Chris

What a stunning display of wonderful colour. Love Jacarandas, a nice time of the year when lots of trees are in full flower Sandra.

Hi Sarah, thanks for the picture, the Jacarandas do look lovely. I remember them looking like this in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe. Hugs Maureen

Thank you all for your comments. Unfortunately Jacarandas are water guzzlers and as they die in the suburbs they will not be replaced. As Chris says the dead flowers are treacherous when they are wet and slippery.

Love Jacarandas. So beautiful and I wear that colour a lot. The Silky Oaks are out in force around Sydney at present. Their orange looks fabulous next to the Jacarandas. (that doesn't sound right, but it is!)
Chris, use that broom! And save yourself some spills, you do not need to be out of action with all your Christmas sewing coming up.
