I have a pr of scissors like this . It is to reach under the hoop for a thread jam. I don't know about the clamps. How did they advertise them for use? Kay

These are used a lot on some of the FSL projects at Embroidery Online...the ones like the set of Christmas Houses that have the little "tabs" that are pulled through a small eyelet hole to put the buildings together. People who do these types of projects swear by them...where did you see them...and did you get them?

I got a pair at an embroidery retreat. They are perfect for getting into those tight places and especially when everything jams up with you hoop attaching to the machine. That's cool how you animated this picture.

Reminds me of some nassal sinus instruments used in the operating room. It's interesting how much medical equipment comes in handy for our stitching projects.

I have a pair of Hemostats (forceps) at each of my machines and another pair in the kitchen as they are great for a multitude of uses, but I have never seen a pair like theses, these look fantastic!
(I'll have to ask my stepdaughter to get me a some :-))

I have these and also various haemostats. They are brilliant for a multitude of uses in the sewing room.
In vet hospitals they are used to remove grass seeds from ear canals.

I feel stupid. Duh, I have these and use them with my serger when threading different ways for the different stitches. As Katydid mentioned, use them for the thread jams under the hoop, I Never Thought Of That. I have just cut up projects. This is why Cuties are the best, how to use things in multiple ways. :)

Never have I seen any like this Carolyn but can sure think of lots of ways to use them.

These are actually a surgical instrament as are the hemostats, handles with the replacable blades that cam out to use in de-snarling birds-nests in embroidery, the tiny curved point and straight scissors and several other things. I don't know about other areas, but at our flea market there is a both that sells them and many other interesting instraments and VERY usable for us sewers and crafters. If you try and buy them through a hospital or medical instrament business they will cost you big. Look for a flea market vendor or if you have a friend who works in a hospital they might be able to get you a "broken" instrament. They still work but not to the specifications of the O.R.

Looks to me as though someone is trying to kick-start another scissor competition! But as has been said, these definitely started off life as a medical instrument. It is surprising how many of the medical instruments serve the crafting, embroidery and sewing interests so well. I have a whole selection of discarded dental tools (picks, etc) that are brilliant for so many intricate jobs. Go for it Mrs Noah, you're in first place at present.

I think I've seen these before, but don't have a pair... they look like they would be very useful and help on many things. Thanks for sharing them with us. Mechille :)
