After my kids dad died they asked me to make something for them out of his uniform shirts. Here is the first of the memory pillows that I made. Each of them will get one like this. There were 5 brand new shirts so there was plenty to make 18x18 in. pillows. Big enough to hug.

Very nice! I made one like this last Christmas. My friend wanted one of her father's shirts made into pillow for her daughter. She had two daughters and only one shirt, so we made a smaller one using just the shirt tail and front button placket for the younger daughter.

Have you ever checked your pm's?-lol
Oh no, Toogie! I had not even noticed I had messages. I'm so sorry I missed you.

This is so nice, for them to always wrap their arms around. I've never seen these before, although clintonmiss22 said she has. I guess I missed this somewhere, but great idea girls.

I had not seen them either but a friend suggested it and my kids were delighted with the idea.

Does it have filling up to the neck opening, how do you sew the top?

Using the part that I cut off the bottom back I sewed it along the yoke seam on the inside, Then I flipped it forward and tacked it at the collar seam. I sewed seams at the bottom and sides, unbuttoned the shirt and put in the pillow form. Pulling that extra piece down over the pillow and buttoning up the placket it covers all of the pillow nicely.

What a wonderful gift, just the thing when you need a hug and to feel close to him. They turned out great!
