I was asked by an elderly (male) friend if I could make something for his great niece for Christmas. I asked him how old she is and what she likes and all he could tell me was "about 3"! So I decided a fat pink bear might fit the bill. I've been doodling with this shape for a while, trying different ways of getting the nose to be more 3 dimensional.

he does look great, kids love bright colours. Is he about 9 or 10 inches high, with just one hooping? And another for the ears?

This bear is about 8 inches high. The ears are not made separately. The nose section is made first then appliqued as part of the main design.
