Very clever interpretation, so unique.
I believe that this is done with a very wide satin stitch and then the bobbin threads are cut, releasing the top stitch to create the fringe. I tried it once on a flower but mine didn't look this good.
Such a unique way to stitch trees...I have done some fringe work in the past, too...

I would like to thank my Secret Santa for the two ornaments. One is an gingerbread house that is iridescent and a candle has been under it since it arrived. The other is a ball covered in folded fabric, I know there is a name for this, but don't know what it is right now, it has a snowman charm and gold ribbon. No picture, but my SS gift is a perfectly darling min-polka dotted apron with a precious kitten in fall leaves on the bib part. Such a pretty design. Somebody sure noticed I talk incessantly about my cat Sugartoes. As for the cooking part, I don't cook often, as my DH prefers his cooking to mine. So if you come to my house in ten years, my apron will still look great and only slightly faded from washing! Thanks Secret Santa from the bottom of my heart. This was an extra special Christmas gift, as we celebrated by giving to Gatlinburg fire victims.

Your gift sounds lovely. Perhaps your giftmaker might have taken a pic before it left home and could ask Sue to post it for us to see. The Tennessee fires were dreadful and had such a high count of injuries as well as the very sad death toll. That was so thoughtful of you to consider others who will be suffering a very challenging time at Christmas.

This bag is lovely. South Australia are the same now, no plastic bags. I wish New South Wales would halt the use of plastic bags too. I use bags like these and some of them are lined for cold foods. Love Chris

I got such a lovely surprise today, the postie came and my SS gift arrived. A beautiful apron with a sewing Merry Christmas on it. I love it, thank you so much Secret Santa. It has taken nearly 20 days to get here but I can tell you all it was well worth the wait. Hubby has taken photos with my phone but I have to wait to send them to my email as I don't have any phone reception when at home. I will a photo later today. Again thank you. Gladys

I'd like to show my SS how I am using my lovely open top bag/container, heck I don't know what to call it but, for some time now I have been looking for something in which to put all my hair clips that I use most often. So I was sitting in my lounge room admiring my pretty container and the light switch finally came on........
It is perfect, easy to quickly grab a hair clip from and it looks so pretty in my bedroom.
