I made a new skirt with hand stitched sashiko along the bottom. This was a fun project.

My skirt has eight panels and there are eight lines going in two different directions making a total of 128 lines on the skirt.

Wow, that's a lot of hand stitching and it's perfect! Love Chris

Ladies, thanks for all the nice thing you have said, I found a fairly easy to keep my lines straight, so all I had to do was to watched the size of mt stitches.

Thank you, I have thought of doing a jacket to match. I really like how it looks.

It's lovely but I think a matching jacket would take away from the design on the skirt. Sometimes less is more! Hugs. Nan W

Lovely embroidered skirt. Need to make me another one of that design as my last one disintegrated from loving use.

Maybe it will happen to this one, it look great when I wore mine with a lt brown almost natural colored leather jacket.
By the way it is a soft blue denim fabric.

It drapes perfectly. Are you saying those lines on the bottom where hand stitched? Very pretty.

Yes it is called sashiko, I done mine with three strands of white embroidery floss.
