1/17 Hi everyone... I am in need of prayers for Scooter... (My swimmer syndrome kitten)..... He is having major surgery tomorrow morning on his back right leg. The leg bone is out of the hip socket and they have to reduce the head of the bone and put it back in the socket.
When the surgeon gets in there he may not be able to do this procedure and he will have to remove the head of the bone all together. I am hoping for a reduction... Either way Scooter will be in a cast with cage rest. A Long recovery for him with more PT afterwards.. I am so worried for him. He has been through so much already in his 5 months ...

Give Scooter an extra cuddle for me before you let the staff take him into surgery tomorrow morning. You already know I have been praying for him since he arrived and became the miracle cat he is. I wish I could be there holding your hand while Dr. C is operating. Be sure to let us all know how Scooter is doing.

Hope you get the result that you need for Scooter to live a normal life.

UPDATE Scooter is out of surgery. The doctor said his leg and hip were textbook surgery.. The reason he did not heal is that Scooters hip joint was crushed. The doctor removed the femoral head cleaned up the hip joint and attached the ligament. He should heal fine and walk again..
Scooter is coming home in a couple of hours and the doctor wants him to walk on the leg as soon as he can even today... He will be on pain meds and antibiotics for a bit though. This is a 6 month recovery for him but he should be good as new. I am relieved it is done and the healing can begin.
Thank you for prayers and support. He will still need prayers to heal...

UPDATE Scooter is very swollen in the hip area. He is walking on the leg already with a limp. He will take some steps and sit then take a few more steps. poor little guy has been through so much in his short life. He is only 5 months old. I pray he heals quickly now..... He is a tough little one who does not give up. Thanks
