Yesterday I met a wonderful young man who is breaking into a jacket business......this guy had never sewn before and learned how from youtube.......He has been invited to show his stuff in an upcoming fashion show around Valentines day, so he made this coat for himself to wear and wanted his logo and brand on it......We hit it off beautifully and I will be embroidering his apparel for him... This jacket if fully lined with red satin and the outershell is a faux leather...he is also in the process of building a website to sell his jackets... I feel so blessed to be working with such a talented young man......

It was, Martine......sewing and embroidery are becoming a lost art according to some of the machine dealers I have spoken to.....they are really hurting for young fresh customers.......I can't believe this kid learned his trade on internet videos.....amazing!

Very interesting, Love your work. Is there a reason why he wanted the front embroidery to be on the right side? I remember my earliest monogram in the 1950's always going on the left side. Kay

Don't know why, but he wanted it on right chest.....It may be because this is going to be his brand and maybe on the left chest would be something else?
In Aus all business logo's go on the left side, usually just above any pocket, sometimes on the pocket, or above where the pocket would be if there isn't one.
But it doesn't look out of place where it is. :-)

The right chest is where you are to wear your nametag so that when you reach to shake hands the other person can see your name. The left chest is often turned away as we reach. Maybe he was trying to impress the logo on crew at the show.

I'm still trying to figure out how you avoided stitching on the lining. This is an eye catching jacket for sure! Does he want to sell this particular jacket, or is it just for himself?

I think it is for him to wear to his first fashion show around Valentines day.......He had already lined this coat, so I did not use stabilizer and used a red bobbin and the inside looks as good as the outside......he loved seeing his logo on the lining (even if it was backwards...LOL)
