Apart from birthday posts, I am afraid that I have not been around a great deal. My eldest daughter in Johannesburg has not been well. She ended up spending a week in hospital and given every test imaginable, including, MRI, brain scans, lumber puncture, liver function - the list goes on. Unfortunately the lumber puncture had a dreadful effect on her. The headaches were so bad she could not even stand. My SIL just could not manage getting the twins back and forth to school and trying to work as well. I received a phone call and flew the next day to Johannesburg. I had such a shock when I saw my daughter - she had aged about 20 years. I was there for a week looking after her and collecting the twins from their different schools. I came home on Sunday. Charlotte is so much better but is having this week off work to sort her life out.

What a blessing that you could go help her like that. I am sorry she is so ill. I hope they find the cause and that the negative affects of the lumbar puncture will heal soon. I know the pain...it is horrific. Thankfully, my head felt better in a few weeks time. May you all be blessed with all you need. You and your family will be in my thoughts and my prayers.

Oh, Sarah, I'm so sorry that poor Charlotte is ill. How lucky that you could step up and take over the children. I know Charlotte was glad to have her mother with her while she was so sick. I'm praying for her healing and a diagnosis that can be easily treated.

Oh! dear Sarah, I am so sorry to read this post about Charlotte. Isn't modern travel amazing these days and that you were able to be there at the drop of a hat. I know Charlotte would have appreciated everything you did for her and the family. I also hope that they find out what the issue is and that Charlotte heals completely. Lots of prayers and loving thoughts being sent across the miles/kilometres of oceans! Love Chris

Please let us know how things go. Our embroidery family is just an extension of our families that surround us. They just go a little further afield and we do not get to see them. Every once in awhile one shows up in the neighborhood and wed are thrilled.

Sarah, a 'Mom job' never ends, but aren't we always there, when they need us. I am sorry you all had to go through this, but mostly sorry for Charlotte and also your grandson Ben, without his mom. I have a feeling Georgie copes fairly well, even tho she missed her I'm sure. I can just picture the relief on your SIL's face, too, when you arrived. I am happy to know she is better and hope she got some answers, as to why she was so sick. -Toogie
