These are the dolls I played with in the 50's and 60's. They are 34 inches tall and are the size of a 3 year old. They were play pal child size dolls. I played with them so much I combed the hair out of their heads. I would love to find some wigs I could glue on and make them cute again. I have searched and cannot find a wig large enough for their 18 inch heads. Does anyone know of a site that might have large wigs for my dolIs and is safe to order from. I am in Maine, USA. I have never replaced doll hair before but would love to restore my dolls for my grandchildren to see how cute they were. Thank you so much for your time and information. Hugs, Barba

Love the dolls. Wish I had the dolls I played with. My Mother wouldn't let me keep them when we moved from PA. to IL> She said I was too old to keep them. I was in eight grade. Now I'm 83 and have 3 Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. Hope you are able to fix the hair.

Oh I wish I still had mine, I made some doll dresses, but they are only 18" type dolls I have two made in germany they have wooden heads and ones has wooden arms and legs beautiful dolls.

They sound wonderful. My older sister collects the ceramic dolls but hers sit in a cabinet. Dolls create such great play fun and imagination. Love them. Hugs. Barba

I love your dolls. Hope you can find wigs for them. When my daughter was small one of her dolls lost all her hair. We sent her to a Doll Hospital here in Melbourne, Australia and they gave her new hair. She still has the doll and she has just turned 53. She loved that doll so much. Hugs

I don't remember these dolls, but I would have loved them. I started making doll clothes when I was 3 years old. Maybe you could make a hat or go to the children's dept and but hats. Little straw hats would be cute. Kay

They are so sweet. Something to consider is trying to find someone near you that makes reborn dolls. Some of them do fantastic work adding hair to the reborn babies and may be willing to help you with yours.

I do not believe there would be anyone near me as I am way out in the country. It would be nice though to find someone to reroot hair. You can see the holes in their heads where I combed the hair right out. I loved them too much. Thanks with hugs, Barba

Hi I have just been reading a few comments about your dolls I make baby reborn dolls and also root them hair some one mentioned re rooting if I remember correctly your dolls look similar to ones I played with if they are hard plastic ? now days the dolls we root hair for are vinyl I would recommend a wig and Impex Original Hi Tack All Purpose Glue try this site for wigs hope the link works if not just google kemper wigs or kemper supplies http://kemperdolls.com/wigs.html

I wondered what type of glue to use. I figured I would need to cut off all the remaining hair and get down to as clean a scalp as possible. Do I cover the entire scalp with glue or just around the edges? Thank you for great info. Hugs, Barba

If your just going to display your dolls and not to play with, I think you could get kids halloween costume wigs would work. I seen some on line of orphan annie that would look like the hair these dolls had. Around $12. Just a suggestion.

I would certainly look to see if you have a Dolls Hospital in your state. Try searching Doll Collectors clubs they may be able to direct you to a professional. To me they look too valuable to mess up trying to do it yourself.

I never even considered that they may be valuable, I just thought they would be fun to play with again with my Granddaughters. My plans were for the girls to make clothes and enjoy them as I did.
