Just finished the two coasters. I tried ordinary cotton as I did not want the sheen. It worked fine until I got into the edging and my machine was not a happy chappy. I think I would like to try again but I would not like to try again on anything with dense stitching.

These are done with ordinary embroidery thread. The design comes from Omas Place. They were a joy to sew and so quick.

These are very pretty, love the fabric. Shame it didn't work with ordinary sewing thread to give you the look you were after though
