Peppermint Swirl Dress, Finally!
Took me over two years to finally start the project. Took about 9 hours to finish. My Babylock Evolution Serger was a life saver in piecing the flounces. The rolled wave hem looks perfect on it!

This is what my twirly girls need! So cute it made me squeal. Not sure I want to put 18 hours into 2 of them though.

Thank you! And I used my serger, otherwise it would take even much longer. I posted it on instagram and tagged the creator of the pattern. She was actually surprised I finished so soon.

Beautiful Lucia, I knew you'd do it eventually. You are right, I made mine a few years ago and the overlocker was a lifesaver. I love the finished trim on the skirt. I cheated and just overlocked mine! The girls loved them and are now too big for them! Lily looks gorgeous in her red dress by the way. Love Chris

Thank you Chris! It was your beautiful projects that made me have to have the pattern. I am glad I finally made it.

Model and dress are so lovely. I like your fabric combination. I've seen these dresses before, but I don't remember one with that neckline, very nice. Would make a nice patriotic dress for Americans in red, white and blue as the neckline looks like a star.

Thank you! The pattern comes with that neckline. I cut out sleeves and gathered them, but forgot to sandwich it before I sewed the bodice. I actually like it better without sleeves. They do have sample of patriotic dresses on their website.

Beautiful. I made one and it was a challenge. But worth the smile and twirls from the grandaughter. Again well done :)

Thank you! It is definitely worthwhile. I figured out some time saving techniques. I used a 28mm rotary cutter to cut out the pattern pieces on fat quarters. I can cut 7 layers at once. The piecing took forever, a little faster with a serger. The hemming definitely went a lot faster with a serger rolled hem!

Beautiful job, Lucia...and Lily looks lovely in her new frock! I have the same serger and love it, too! I can see where it would be a lifesaver, especially for a project like this!

Please, where do I go for the pattern? My great granddaughter would be one thrilled girl to have such a garment as this beautiful dress. I will appreciate any help from someone with directions. Thank you much--Jerry
