Made a wallhanging from a runner pattern. The fabric is 50 years old linen from my grandma. Because to iron this linen is a Nightmare I decided to make a wallhanging. The embellishment I did by hands(roses) and with my regulare sewing machin.

I've got this too from Sweetpea Machine Embroidery Designs. Great job on yours. I haven't done mine yet but get a lot of inspiration from their website. ❤️ Chris

Thank you, my grandma passed away more then 30 years ago, the fabric was used in a machine which is smoothing bed linen and tableclothes, dont know the english words for this, in german it is called "Mangel".

What a lovely table runner. Love the fact that it belonged to your grandmother. I love the quilting done as well.

Wallhanging I mean, but looks great as a runner as well. :-)
by elemausi 24 May 2017
As a runner I would need to wash often, but it gets a lot of wrinkles during washing and it must be ironed very hot to be smooth, this is not good for the embroidery.
Thank you

I've been wanting to purchase this design from Sweetpea as well.... Nice work with the neutrals and using your heirloom fabric from your grandma. I would have never thought to make a wall hanging, and yours is beautiful!

How special! Looks lovely and is a great idea - the heritage linen by
grandma is honoured now. And by your handcraft and the love put in also you are making memories. Thanks for sharing

Danke Maria, das Leinen sind Mangeltücher, die beim Tod meiner Oma vor mehr als 30 Jahren weggeworfen werden sollten. Ich habe sie damals aufgehoben und verarbeite sie nun Stück für Stück.
