These people do an amazing good job and they are so brave, doing a very dangerous job to help others.
I do hope the dog will be found very soon. It must be frustrating not knowing what happened to the dog. Let's pray he did survive and can be reunited with his boss very soon.

My Heart aches for all the people that have to suffer. Fire, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes etc. All I can do is pray for them. I can't even start to think about the animals. It just brakes my heart. I hope you will locate Billy.real soon.

I've not been on, and have just read your posts. Such terrible things to happen. My heart goes out to all, and my prayers that all will end safely and soon. I can't imagine how you feel.

Oh Sarah, I pray for your safety, as well as others. Do not feel guilty, be thankful God has spared you, and pray He continues to. Someone needs to be there for the others.
A lovely countryside, homes, to lose to such devastation. I pray the fires be extinguished, before anymore loss of lives or property....Our only son is a Forest Firefighter, I don't know if I ever told you that. I love the top photo of the rescue.....

Bless you all for your words. I slept for 10 hours last night so feel better. This morning the weather is clearer and we have been told that all the fires are under control. The winds have died down. The smoke and ash in the air is still nasty. Hotels and b&b' have opened their doors to the homeless. Knysna will be rebuilt and become beautiful again but the 7th. June will never be forgotten.

I'm so thankful to hear your news that the fires are out. Please be careful when going outside and breathing that smoke laden air. Sometimes our guilt leads us to action. Sending you love and hugs, Jerrilyn.

I am glad that the wind has calmed. This is probable one the worst things that has happened in our country. It is so horrific and my heart aches for the ones who also lost loved ones in the fire. It was so sad that the family who died was actually expecting their 2nd child. Also the helper was only 24 years old. For us living in other parts of the country - things seems to be under control yet truth is far from it. Hundreds (if not thousands) will need to start to rebuilt their lives. Our annual holiday break is in these areas (Wilderness, George, Hartenbos) and I was upset in January when we were there to see how the drought has affected the areas going more to the west (towards Stilbaai) and now this. The good that comes from it is to see how people are working together - even her in the city there is point were you can deliver dry groceries, blankets etc. for the affected areas. Thinking of you - and it is understandable that you can not bring yourself doing much.
