Hi Cuties, I've been busy baby sitting - having the 5 grandchildren from Sunday till yesterday. It's school holidays here in Australia and last Thursday Dana and her husband Jason went to Melbourne for her birthday (which was 1st July). They bid for a weekend away at a friend of theirs benefit night. He had a motor cycle accident last year and is now a Quadriplegic. They paid thousands for it, but as Jason said, it was the least they could do as this young man, only in his early 40's will never have a 'normal' life.
They both had a wonderful time at the Melbourne Casino, dined at Nobu, a famous Japanese restaurant, also dined at Heston Blumenthal's restaurant and for one of her birthday gifts we gave Dana a 9 course Degustation Lobster luncheon and a River cruise down the Yarra. They won at the Poker machines and decided to buy a puppy! We can't believe it as Jason has been so against having an animal. Whereas on the other hand we've always had dogs and a cat!
They came home yesterday with a box in their arms with the puppy in it and asked the kids to sit down and shut their eyes. I was standing by watching and once the box was open, well it was pandemonium - it contained a beautiful little Moodle (a Maltese Terrier cross Poodle).
They have named him Scooby Dee instead of Scooby Do (as their last name starts with a D). I've got some pictures of him, he is only 8 weeks old and just loves being with the kids and the kids were just so overcome they all cried, me too!! Love Chris
