Yikers!! Torrential rains this morning causing the dry creek at the back of our property to act like a river....all these trees are on our property yards from the creek bed...I don't even want to go into our basement.....we had this about 3 weeks or so ago and our basement flooded... UGH! Update.......we did get water in the basement.....not as much as several weeks ago, but got the wet dry vac and squeegee out......suppose to have more rain tomorrow.....Make it stop!!!

That looks like swift water. Hope the basement is okay. Temporarily not an idyllic view.

OMG I know what water can do. My husband's business use to flood.
I had rain last week and it got in my basement. Lucky it was just at the back door. I hope your basement is ok.

Me, too......still haven't gone downstairs to check....the 5" rain we got 3 weeks ago, filled our window wells and poured in that way.......

Hoping that you and Jim will not be having to sweep out too much water. I know what it is like to get flooded in heavy rains. Keep dry.

I so hope your basement doesn't flood again Vicki, it must be heartbreaking to have this happen.
We live on a riverbank and it is flood zoned so I worry every time we have torrential rain, it frequently breaks the banks and floods our back yard but so far it hasn't entered our house. We did have one corner of our house undermined, it started dropping so badly that the windows upstairs nearly fell out, It cost $30,000 to have it underpinned!!!! So it isn't just the visible damage we need to worry about.
I will pray you have no damage from the rising waters and that they recede quickly. Huge hugs n love xxxxx

My heart goes out to you. It's so scary watching the water rise and rise. I think we have had 1 day without rain in the last 2 weeks. Please be careful and I hope you are well stocked in case of the roads flooding.

Can anyone figure out this weather? I heard the same story today in our neck of the woods. From one extreme to the other. I have family being evacuated from fire zones on the other side of the country.

Stay safe. God bless. Hugs

So sorry to read about your basement flooding Vicki and I pray that it doesn't happen again. Water does so much damage. I've been to Meg's and seen the damage it did to their place. I also wish the rain would go to the areas that need it most. Love Chris

I am so sorry to hear about your basement. I hope you did not lose too many things downstairs. Too bad the rain could not be set to California to put the fires out. Prayers for you and your familly

Oh gosh! Having a river flowing in your yard really has its downside. I'm sorry that all that water ends up in your basement. Having to deal with that is a time consuming task and I don't envy you. It just gets in the way of your life and makes you miserable for a while. When something bad like this happens to me, I try to think of something that would be more awful and I say to myself...gee, if this is the worse thing that happens to me today, this will be a good day.
