I'm ready for WINTER!!!!! I was out mowing and trimming our yard on Saturday...when I was very rudely attacked by bees/wasps/hornets...something that stings YIKES!!!! The little critters tattooed my face and I was terrified. Needless to say it ruined my day and my plans to stitch. I am on the mend and may never stick my nose, cheeks or anything else outdoors the rest of the season. lol

Yikes. I am so sorry. Not much fun being the cause of their anger.

Yikes! I bet it was yellowjackets. They nest in the ground & when you mow over them them attack! My poor hubby's been stung so many times! We destroy the nest after dark, but they come back every summer! However, if there's a skunk around (we have a lot in E. Tn.) they will dig up the nest, drag it all out & eat every single jacket & larva! They'd gotten 2 this year at our house so far! Hope you are ok!!!

I'm not fond of the smell left by skunks but I sure wish they'd have gotten to the stupid things first! Thanks

They are just as much of a pest and hassle, hope you can get some relief.

I hear you Leah. My Mum was attacked by wasps last year and they made a right mess of her hand. I'm sorry to read your face got stung, that would have been very painful. I hope you heal well and ensure you have lots of STINGOSE if you go outside again. Love Chris

Thanks for the heads up Miss Chris, will have to see if I can locate some of this. The up side to the 'swollen face' was no wrinkles....lol

Thanks, I'm sure I'll be fine. The worst part was being scared to death; only thing I felt was these suction cup thingies all over my cheeks. :)

I totally understand! For us at the moment it is smoke! Just can't breathe outside because of all the fires around. Everything is so dry! I LOVE winter. All the bugs and creepy things have gone, the bears are hibernating, we can get someone to shovel the walks when it snows (hopefully), and I can bake and sew and enjoy the holiday season!

Ouch!!Good that you aren't allergic to bees, but be careful for the rest of the summer. You seem to be a good sport about it & can see the humorous side.

Thank you, I will. If I can't laugh at myself and give other people a smile in the retelling what good is the event? After all there are people who have much more serious problems than mine. Prayers for all of them, :~)

Sorry to hear!!! I'm enjoying mild weather in Ohio. 70's with a breeze. I felt like wearing a jacket today but didn't do so. I hope for more days like this. Not ready for winter just yet.

You poor thing. I just learned that killer bees killed a 70 year man in Oak Hills, California. Please be careful.
