Thank you all so very, very much for all your wonderful Birthday wishes, I'm sorry I didn't get here to read them all until now.

I did have a lovely, though very emotionally draining, day........ I took my friend Rada to the hospital, in Newcastle, for her appointment with the Medical Oncologist in charge of her cancer care team. We were gone six hours in total and are still none the wiser as to the kind of cancer treatment Rada is going to have. She had a stroke in January 2016, caused by her irregular heartbeat, so her Cardiologist doesn't want her to have chemo or radiation treatment! They will get together to discuss it and we will know more next Wednesday.

On Wednesday we fair-welled Ray's best friend of 66 years and while attending his funeral one of our neighbour's lost his long battle with cancer.
Needless to say it really hasn't felt appropriate to celebrate my birthday but reading your messages tonight has really cheered me, so I do thank you all most sincerely.
Hugs and roses and much love to you all.

I am so sorry for all your losses in such a short time. It can be so emotionally draining. Am keeping you and your friend in prayer. It sounds as though you give a lot of support to your friend.

So sorry for your difficult day. Thank goodness Rada has a good friend like you. I think sometimes uncertainty is harder than finality.

Thanks Betsy, it sure is tough waiting while the medicos argue it out. Poor Rada is worried enough.

Oh my goodness! Hugs to you, i think you need them. I know it was a difficult birthday, but you have given so many love and support during these trying and sad days. There's nothing wrong in celebrating your birthday at a later time. Keep us up to date with Rada. I'm sure there are several praying for her.

Thanks Karen. Rada has had the lumpectomy but the cancer was in one lymph node and it was Grade 3 aggressive, so she really does need to have follow on treatment of some kind. hugs n roses, Meg

God bless you our Angel Meg! I do know what you are going through with Rada and I know she really appreciates all your help. I'm sorry I can't come down today, but as you said you wouldn't be very good company at the moment. I'll try and see if I can get down soon. I hope you and Ray both have a good weekend. Love Chris

Thanks Chris. I might be back in hospital on Monday, only overnight and only if I can't bend my knee 110* when I go back to see the surgeon, Monday morning. I keep trying but my knee is so stiff and boy does it hurt. :-)
hugs n love, me

Isn't it wonderful that you can be of such support to your friend. You've found the (dulled) silver lining to being able to show such empathy. Dulled because I'm not wanting to suggest that cancer is the silver lining. You will celebrate when things settle down. Take your darling hubby out, sounds like the both of you could use a picker-upper.

Thanks Jerrilyn, I just wish things would settle down instead of the one crisis after another of the last 6 months.
A night out for dinner sounds like a great idea as soon as it warms up a bit. hugs n roses, Meg

Guess we are getting to the age where we will see more of these losses. My baby sister (55) lost her battle with lung cancer that had spread yesterday morning. Hubby and I traveled all day to get here to be with her family. So very sad for her kids, 14 and 17. Please keep them in your prayers, as I am for all who are suffering. Hugs. Nan W

I so understand what you are going through Nan and I add my prayers and condolences to those of Chris and Jerrilyn.
It must be terrible to lose a sister, and even more devastating for her children and hubby, I am so terribly sorry.
Hugs and blessings, Meg
