hi all, just need to vent a bit here. If anyone on Facebook sees a group Brother 770 "Free" designs stay away. I recently left the group because he was specializing in illegal designs. NFL logos and Disney. When I spoke up about it being an illegal design I was told it was ok cuz he wasn't "selling" the design. Ummm....HELLO. I don't want to be anywhere near that groupwhen Disney cracks down and goes after everyone in that group. I'm sure that others like me who spent thousands of dollars on my machine cant take that chance of losing their machine. Sorry free designs aren't worth losing my machine. Please be aware. thank you for letting me vent.

I'm proud of you for standing up and being honest and showing integrity. I wish more were like you. And you are right. A free design is not free if it is copyrighted. It can come at a very high price like your machine(s) and designs.

You are so right about the chance of losing your "Embroidery Empire", but when you look at taking designs that are copyrighted, no matter if they are given as free, it is just simply stealing. The copyright is there to protect the owners revenue and taking it in any way is stealing. For some reason it's difficult to see as what it is: stealing.

Thank you for letting us know about this site. It always amazes me at the number of people who just don't get it. Just because a person digitizes a design and gives it a different name does not mean they are not infringing on copyright laws. If it can be identified as a copyrighted character, it is illegal.
