My brother and his wife live in Jax FL ....he was to fly up on 9-15 to spend 2 wks with us.....I pray he can make it since I just saw that Jax is experiencing flooding......My brothers' 2 children along with their families live in FL as well....I have not heard from anyone yet and am worried!! I pray for all that have been in harms way

UPDATE: Still no word from my brother and his wife (also our nephew is with them) I saw that the airport he was to fly out of is closed, so don't know if he will get up here......we figured with all the flooding in Jax that they are not going to be able to communicate, so now it is just a waiting game.......our niece (brothers daughter) and her family posted a thingy on facebook that they are safe, so thank God for that! Thank you all for your prayers and support......will let you know as soon as I hear anything.....also, Jim's sister and her family is in S. Carolina and we cannot get them either.....didn't think we would have to worry about them......oh, boy!

Sorry you haven't heard yet. There is a lot of disrupted communication, and many okay reasons for them not to have reached you yet. I hope you get your visit, sooner or later. They will be glad to escape the mess and have some fun at your place.

I hope you will hear from them soon. Power is out in so many places, which makes communication difficult.

Don't give up hope. Over 5 million are without power so communications are very iffy. The good news is that Irma has weakened and is soon to say good bye to FL. The emergency services will be working hard to restore power and communications. And prayers are still continuing.

Many of us do not have power, and cell phones are iffy.....my family is all okay, both daughters and GS homes are without power, as well as GD, but all are safe. Our power came back on this morning so luckier than most. Thank goodness, for DH went into AFIB on Friday, and has not converted back, so a little tough on us right now. Some minimal damage, and lots of tree cleanup for many of us. We are about 2 hours South of Jax....but they did have some flooding. As well as many areas in Central Florida.

We can get texts, but have been unable to send anything out. Just letting you know he may not be able to get out with any phone service.

A Fib is so exhausting! Perhaps his heart will right itself when the danger/stress subside. I will add this to my prayers.

It is devastating!
I pray that your family are all safe Vicki, I've been praying for days for everyone to be safe.
As difficult as it is, goods and chattels can be replaced but lives cannot, still I do not envy them all, the massive cleanup and rebuilding ahead would be heartbreaking.
Huge hugs, Meg

When power is out for an entire area, often the landlines won't work. Cell towers may be down. It is also possible they cannot answer. The power being out may mean their cell phones need to be charged. I am sure they are out helping neighbors and friends. I know you would be if you could. Relax and let God take care of them for a little while. Have faith. Unless it is their time to go...they will be fine.
I will add prayers of comfort for you. We are already praying for the countless in harms way.

Prayers are coming your way for your family and all the families affected. This is a terrible storm and millions without power. They probably just can not call to let you know they are OK. Now we have to watch another storm Jose. Bad Hurricane season this year. Hope all works out well for you and the family.

My friends in Naples and Merritt Island (one East coast - one West coast) both came through with flying colors. In fact Merritt Island still has electricity. No water but lots of bottled water and water from the pool for toilets. God is good.
