Finally pics of the finished dress!
I must admit it was done a few weeks ago and last touches were still being done on the day of the ball. A couple of days before I had to do a mad dash 2 hours drive away as I had not been able to find any beads locally that matched the burgandy/pink fabric.(looks red in photos though). The shop owner helped and the only beads we could find were swarovski crystals and some glass painted beads. They were just right so my DD and I had fun stitching them onto the dress over the next 2 days! I then decided whilst my DD was having her hair done on the day it needed a few more! Talk about cutting it fine!
Our cat decided that he liked to hide under the dress whilst it was on the mannequin and couldn't resist taking a pic of that too!
On the day my daughter said she felt like a princess in her dress and it was just what she wanted! On the night she had complete strangers coming up to her complimenting her on how beautiful it was. She was delighted to say she helped me make it. She was the only one wearing a princess gown, all the other young girls wore the modern fitted slinky dresses that seem to be all the rage at the moment. I was just pleased my daughter was happy and that it turned out well with not too many dramas. She had a fabulous night and enjoyed looking different to everyone else.
I also have to ask, do you live by this beautiful view of the water? If so, you are one lucky lady!
You have done a wonderful job of it, you should feel very proud!
This is love.
Hugs
