Does anyone know if there is a design for vertical and horizontal sashes that can be incorporated into an 8x8 applique block? Does that make sense? I would love to do some in-the-hoop quilting. I know so little about it but, I believe it can be done. Thanks for any help on this!! Laura

If you mean to add sashing to a block, I have some designs in my Facebook group. (Engineered in stitches.)

Thanks Sue - I will take a peek - I have some applique designs that I want to use to make a baby quilt. I keep thinking there must be a sash design somewhere, that I can merge to the design that will add sash to each applique. Is this what yours does?

Do you mean cross hatching?

Thanks for the reply - no not cross hatching. I mean attaching 4 pieces of sashing around my applique right in the hoop.

Hmmm...some questions here...how wide do you need the sashing..do you want top and bottom added first then the sides...sides added first then the top/bottom sashing...alternating top, side, bottom, side sashing strips....

It would not be different from making borders, as I did in mug rugs. Just a matter of how wide you want them.
