Caroline, I totally know where you're coming from. I received a letter the other day in the mail. It was from Ashley, but it was only one page folded up. On the outside of the page Ashley wrote, "I came across this while going through paperwork. I thought you would appreciate having this, as hugs or words are hard to come by, from him. He must have written it two years ago". I opened the page and on it was the word I, a HUGE red colored heart and the word Gram. Mason had drew and written it. He is now almost 14 ...it is in my Bible now.
