good news !!! i just found out my computer is saved. my 17 yr. old neighbor boy , fixed my computer . , he put in firefox a new one that just came out his dad works on them, told him to come help me, he is one smart kid!!! better get to looking gals, those of you that have older ones like me , mine is window vista, seems to work ok, now i have to go back and redo some of my passwords. i have to sign in to cute every time , it tells me i have signed in wrong, have to do it again?? what am i doing wrong? good luck cuties happy turkey day thur. doris

I gave a link to another post. After I did some research I posted this on the other post -- Chrome and Firefox will end their support for Vista at the end of the year. That leaves Opera for a browser. Not my first choice, but it would be better than no internet -- right??
Opera is like Firefox in that it is another browser to access the internet. Ask your neighbor about it. Have them "clear your cache" to see if that fixes the "signed in wrong" issue. Good luck with it all -- computers can be infuriating!

This is great news. I know I will have to switch to Windows 10 some day and I dread it.

Karen, I also,was not keen to switch. One day I just decided to do it and I have had no problems
Sometimes we fear the unknown and then when it happens wonder why we worried. Windows 10 is fine

What a nice story to hear. Nice to hear about well brought up young ones willing to help. He would have gone home feeling good about himself and happy with the unexpected gift of money. I am happy you have your computer working again.
