I've been away for a few days. Caught a nasty respiratory virus and then decided to take a holiday at the hospital. Not the relaxing few days I would have liked! Funny though, it wasn't the virus that put me there. I had an IV port in my chest that my body decided it didn't like anymore. The skin around it became excoriated so ended up on IV antibiotics and they decided the port had to come out. Now it is in my arm-ugh. Minor inconvenience. Once everything is healed up, I can have it put back in chest.

Kind of hard to find the Thankfulness of the season in all of that. Wow! Glad you're back home and hopefully the virus is on the wane.

At least it didn't start until Thanksgiving evening after all the family had left. We had a wonderful time together!

My husband laughs at me cause I ask everyone I'm around that has sniffles if they are the ones that gave the bug to me!

You have a funny way of taking a vacation. I also think you could use some prayers for healing

It's either laugh or cry, and I guess that I would rather laugh! Thank you for the prayers.

I am with you about the laughing part.

That is certainly not a holiday I would wish for you. I'm glad you are on the mend now. Hopefully, you will have a new port by Christmas and no virus or infection anywhere in sight. My prayers go up for you.

On the bright side, I didn't have to do laundry, clean house - especially after having everyone over for Thanksgiving- etc. for several days. Downside was, I didn't get to sew!

Ooh! Debbie, I'm so sorry to read about your ideal. I do hope that you will heal completely and that you will be back to 'normal' as soon as your body allows. Love and prayers Chris

Thank you Chris. The infectious disease doc. said once the IV was out of my chest, the infection should start to heal up.
