I have made this table mat years ago and thought it wasn't good enough to upload a photo in Cute, but I'm fond of it and when I had it in my hands again a few days ago I decided to upload the photo anyway.
The frame design had been made for a 360x200mm hoop but I had duplicated it in my software and joined to become almost square so it has been stitched out in 2 hoopings. The frame design was free in Designs by Cuties, and not available anymore. The cutlery design was a freebee from Cathy de France. Text from my old 4D software.

Next time you need a new sewing-embroidery machine you could buy one with a double size hoop that can stitch the whole table mat in one hooping. It should be easier. I would love to get that machine. Thanks for you comment, my friend and Happy New Year to you too :-)

What a fabulous table mat! I love the soft and pretty feeling of it. Sometimes I think we are our own worst critics when, in fact, our work is actually wonderful! Please post some more photos of your work! I'd like to see what else you've created.

It's worth showing! I love the colours.
My largest hoop is 200x360 and I find it rather difficult to get a split design right if there is not much room to manoever the second half and get that outline spot on. So I never tried anything larger then 350 x 380mm.
It was you who told me years ago to make the outside borders wider than I used to, and try 5mm. A tip I am very thankful for.

Thank you, Martine. Stitching out the second half of the round 350x350mm doily has been very difficult but I remember that the second half of the rectangular doily has been easier. The 5mm border allows you to trim the fabric at about 2mm distance from the centre or the border width, before stitching out the satin stitch (or fancy stitch), and the result may be perfect.
