My first make of 2018. This little quiltlet was made entirely in the hoop with no extra sewing. Once I got my head round the engineering, the rest was easy!
I've added a picture of the back for KIm. There is a tiny overlap across the middle, fixed with fusible web. With a larger overlap this could be an envelope style cushion cover.

Love the way you have used applique and embroidery together. Is it for anyone?

It is hanging on my wall. I thought of Jake when I patched Sam's trousers!

I'm glad you were able to figure it out! This is a perfect little quilt, and I really like the combo of ME and quilting. I'm still in the "how do I do it" stage.

This is really sweet, reminds me of a cushion my mother made many years ago

I love your sunbonnets and Sue and Sam. They look so charming. Such a nice start of the year! I had a day off and start embroidering tomorrow - 8 towels with the same family logo for one and 2 towels with a different family logo for another. Argh. And after that I'll happily come up with some new and fun project - I'll think about it when I watch my machine stitches..

Towels aren't my idea of fun! Hope they behave well so you can move on to something nice.
Mops think of something quick and fun for me to try. I need between 58-88 gifts!

It looks very neat Sue. The fabric strips are perfect for the designs/period. I made two things today too, but not as pretty as yours. A start for 2018!

I started with the fabric for the strips (the backing is the same.) It was part of a bagful brought to me by a friend from Maine.

Precious. Can more be added? I like how everything matches perfectly in the corners

It would be a struggle to add more blocks in the hoop. The backing would be unwieldy. The blocks could be joined on the sewing machine though.
Thanks

Very cute...would love to see the back as well....you know how I love to see the back side too! What is the finished size?

This is about 45 cm square. I'll take a picture of the back tomorrow (if it gets light - we have storm Eleanor here at the moment!)
Thanks...stay safe and warm!

Delightful. What size hoop do I need.

This was 230mm square, but I will also offer 200mm square and possibly a couple of smaller sizes.

Beautiful. Reminds me of spring. We could use some about now. We are in the middle of some heavy snowfall right now.

Ahhhh Sue you know I love sunbonnets having seen 2 quilts of them I did. They just remind me so much of my childhood. My Grandmother loved them.

Sunbonnets remind me of my grandmother, too. She quilted a lot and I remember her doing these among others. Fond memories , for sure.

I like - can I do this?

Yes. It will fit in your square hoop.
