I am now set to go on a walk with you Carolyn! These mittens were inspired by the ones in CME but I found they were to small. This glove pattern is from the Online Fabric Store. The embroidery is one that I have had for awhile but am not sure where it is from.

Very nice. Love the colors you used. I have to work out in this cold to feed the heifers and calves so I think I will sit Carolyn's walk out........

Time for the long underwear and Carharts to stay warm!
With all that to do, you don't need to walk! But wear something warm anyhow.

They are very nice, but you may not understand how you have to dress for Carolyn's walk. First, you probably need liners beneath your pretty purple mitts. Then you need a balaclava - for example, scroll back a couple of years through her postings to see the ones she made for herself and John. This is to protect the skin on your head, face and neck. Then, several pairs of woolen socks and some great waterproof boots. Really warm pants. Layers of tops and sweaters and a great coat bought in the frigid north, rated for minus humpty-bump temperatures. I think I'll just scroll through her photos again...

Good one grace lol to cold for me today with wind it was -40+ hugs We did go around the block so Mr. Peeko could do his job lol
We have had 5 nights in a row below 28 degrees here (coldest in my lifetime) which means my heater is running on heat strips (very expensive by the minute). Don't even want to SEE that power bill.
Yes, the mittens are lined with soft fake fur foor added warmth. And we do get cold here as well. My husband showed me the temp when he got home from work - 15. Still not as cold as Carolyn, but we do know how to stay warm!

We are having wind chill effect also. Brrrrrrr. II have had all the essentials for cold weather. But somehow my gloves keepcoming up missing. I think our 8 and 10 year olds might havve something to do with thier diappearence. So decided if these have less of a tendency to wander off.
put your name on them lol with pen hehe

So far so good. The first pair I made was too small so they were given to my 8 yo. She loves them. Our 10 yo is a boy so I don't think he will want purple or flower. LOL

Yes it is. The wind chill has been in the negative numbers. Friday they called school off in our area because it was so cold. That is a first!
