I made a cute dress for my DD and with some tulle troll hairbands everyone knew who she was. All I did was make a basic dress pattern from a sleeveless t-shirt that fitted then made the back shoulders longer to fold over the front, added some length and then decorated it with big buttons and pompom trim. I did also make a facing to make it more comfortable and she wore a hot pink long sleeved top underneath. The great thing is my dd can get away with wearing it when not dressing up too.
