I loved mariagiannina's table runner (see link) so I had to see if I could come up with an ITH version.
I used a batik kaftan as a source of fabric and was a bit limited as to how I could use it. My runner was made in 4 sections, joined and backed in the hoop. There is a small gap at one end waiting to be hand stitched.

Nicely done...what size blocks did you use...any quilting on the back...you know how I love to see the back too!

The back is completely plain because it is bagged - added as I went along. No way it could be quilted through unless I was prepared to bind.
The blocks are 30 cm tall and 17 cm wide.

Cleverly done. The 'all half square triangles' method got me sidetracked at first when I thought about it. Love the quilting.

HST are not really needed to get the same effect - couldn't have done it ITH anyway with HST. I love stitch and flip!
I know, thinking horizontally was my second thought. S&F does wonders. Never a wonky seam.

Love your ITH version, you're so clever to work that out! HST take a bit longer, love your colours too.
I made 5 of them in different colours, but the photos are too big to post. I had one similar to yours.
I love the quilting too, I didn't have the time to quilt the ones I made, just did in the ditch, and I told the girls they have to do the quilting on them, since we have all done a class with template quilting, I said it would be good practice for them! LOL
