I'm back!-lol- Hello Cuties, I actually came back Saturday afternoon. I had a good time on my trip, but an unhappy homecoming. The first thing hubby said to me was someone just backed into my car!
We did so much, I can't begin to say what and where. I can tell all of you including Kathy aka kathymourie I waded into the Atlantic Ocean. My niece kept telling me to back up to where I had my jeans rolled up. You can tell I'm not use to the beach because I'm sure you can guess what happened. (see below photo) Rode back an hour to hotel soaked from bottom down! It's a wonder I didn't get sick again as water was ice cold. I can tell you the Florida sunshine and blue skies did me worlds of good. 2nd photo is Pearlie with me. Remember she is the one I met on the Maine trip and went to help her with her 10 needle machine?
Love this photo #3. It was taken at a restaurant on the water in Alabama. You already saw the photos from the cruise along St John's River in Jacksonville,Florida which I enjoyed. Anything on the water I enjoy-lol We had a step on guide that took us all around Jacksonville and another day out to Kingsley Plantation (#4 back of home), #5 view from front of home. How would you like to have this in your front yard?
We ate at Fernadina Beach Marina on Amelia Island and shopped. The seagulls and pelican were flying by as we ate on the outdoor tables. Some ate inside but we enjoyed the sunshine and coolness outdoors.
I can't say enough about the beautiful architectural buildings at St Augustine. The churches, college, hotel, museum were all breathtakingly, beautifully constructed. I was however, disappointed in the Fountain of Youth. I was more impressed with the beautiful oak trees on the streets before you entered. Here I am getting a sip from 'the fountain'.
Flagler College covered a whole city block, I do believe. I took so many photos, but could not get it all in one frame. I will show you one I took, then a postcard I bought, just so you can see the enormity of it.
I have to go but I hope you enjoy my photos-Toogie
You need to come with us on one of these trips, when we are going through your way again. I don't know when that will be.
My niece is organizing a trip to Missouri Star Quilt company and on to Branson but I won't be able to make that one. It will be in October and that is our 50th. It was the only opening for the year 2018 for Jennie Doan, MSQC!
Glad you like the photos, we did have a great time
I hope you can get your car fixed sooner rather than later. It's always a nightmare dealing with insurance agencies. Love Chris
Glad you like the pics.

I'm glad you had such good childhood memories. My husband is not a good traveler, so if I want to go long distances, this is my way to go.
I'm sorry about my car too. It's only been a week, but I sure miss it. We had to go to the hospital for Gus's surgery in the truck. It's okay, but I rather the car. I have my old car to run around here, but hubby doesn't like to go far in it. We should get the police report soon and maybe get the ball rolling.
Did you get to go to the Castillo de San Marcos. Lots of history there, too.
I anticipated the result when I read, "I waded into the ocean." My favorite "ocean" memories are of my children on their first trip to the beach and their faces when the sand is pulled out from under their feet when the tide goes out. I can see your shocked face. At least it's a soft fall.
Thanks for sharing with us. Get caught up and get your car repaired. Hugs!
I didn't fall in the water, thank goodness, just got hit by a huge wave. Nevertheless, my jeans took 2 days to dry out and I was the first off the bus to run to my shower!
I wish I could get my car fixed. Still waiting on the report....
