I haven't been about as my family has had to come first. People in Wales and Welsh communities around the world celebrate the life of their patron saint, St David, and the culture of their country on St David’s Day. So on Thursday 1 March, Welsh people wherever they are in the world will celebrate. Many primary aged children go to school in Welsh costumes and will have a day where school work isn't top of the agenda for the day. Currently lots of parts of the UK are covered in snow, ice and very cold winds and many Welsh schools will be closed for the day and the following one too. I will be busy - weather permitting putting some sewing into a local shop as a small group I belong to are crafters of the month there. (and keeping warm)

Have a good day - no celebrations of anything here. The beast from the east has us firmly pinned down. No traffic has been in or out of our village since Tuesday.

We had leeks as part of dinner - no one wore any in their lapel, however :-) Hope you get to enjoy the festivities in spite of the snow. We're due to get a foot (30 cm) or more tonight into tomorrow. (whatever Chris said, goes for me, too LOL)
