I return, with a new machine

I'm planning on getting back to my hobbies and i just bought a new sewing machine! A Singer 99-13 made in 1934. It didn't actually work when I got it (no belt and the motor makes an angry noise instead of spinning) so I took it to the shop yesterday. It was all set up inside a table (Smokey approves, as you can see) and the pedal was even screwed in to be used with a knee, and it turns out the shop doesn't accept machines in cabinets if they can come out, so i had to unscrew all the screws and take the table back home. The guy I bought it from said it worked and i didn't think to ask for proof, and it turned out he bought it from a thrift store. But i know the problem is the motor so they'll either fix it or put on a new one and i'll have it back soon :)

A beautiful cabinet! I remember when I learned to sew, in the 70's, all the sewing machines were in cabinets like these! What a find you have!

Ah, those were the days when Singer turned out a fine product and painted the case with gold decorations. I'm sure the cat knows he will be exactly in the way in order to get attention when you sit to sew.

A few years ago singer released a black plastic machine shaped kinda like the old ones as an anniversary thing and it seemed people were unhappy.
He likes to sit on whatever fabric i'm trying to feed into the machine. Once when he was younger he layed on the foot pedal

I have several old Singer machines and featherweights. This 3/4 size one I gave to granddaughter.

They don't make them like they used to make them.
