This photo of a Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoo was taken earlier this year in our back yard.A few days before this was taken a pair of these birds were drinking out of the bird bath just before sunset.<br /><br />
This one was ,one of 4 birds that arrived for a drink in the morning a few days later but before I could get closer to take more photos ,some loud voices from next
door ,frightened them off & they haven't been back.<br /><br />
We have only seen these birds up the north coast not down here.

In our area ( far north coast NSW - Bangalow) we see the Red tailed Black cockatoo in groups,they are very noisy birds.

Central Coast shire.They were making such a loud noise ,so I looked out to see ,what was going on.I thought it was the myna birds attacking our white cat.

We have been here 40yrs now & the bird life has really changed ,we see all sorts of parrots turning up now but the sparrows ,pee wees,willy wag tails have disappeared.

Gorgeous Judy, we've got Corella's visiting our back yard and boy has it been hot today. We've noticed lots of Lorikeets too.

No air con here ,I got sick of sticking to everything I touch .Our outside thermometers' silver ball is still showing 42C but the red line is showing 33C.Don't know if the silver is still made from mercury these days or not.It will be interesting to see if it eventually goes back down to join up with the red line
