Hi Cuties, whilst my Husqvarna is in getting a facelift!! he he he! (the Fix, Stop and Go button were flashing on and off) I decided to do some more of my quilt on the Brother Quattro as I can only sew them out on this machine.
I know Betsey is interested in this! So I've done 4 white squares with the blue thread. Now this is the blue thread I only bought last Thursday at the show I went to for that pillow case top I did. Well I've had lots of breakages again, so I slowed the machine down to only 350 stitches per minute and used a 90/14 needle and the machine liked it better, so the more intricate design took over 2 hours. The feather one only took an hour as I sewed them twice.
Once I felt it was behaving I put it up to 600 stitches per minute, but decided against putting it to the 1000 stitches per minute. Anyway, I've done 4 - only 21 more to go!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Janette, I've never touched the tension on this machine. I'll have to have a look at the Instruction booklet. Love Chris
I don't mess with the bobbin tension on my Ellisimo, but frequently change the top tension depending upon the thread, fabric or design...it is very easy to set it back to the "default" for the machine so you really can't mess it up...

When Fix, Stop and Go don't work it's time to change machines and plans. This reminds us that it is SOOOO lovely to have a second machine. The four squares are lover-ly, lover-ly, lover-ly.

This is magnificent quilt! That blue and white combo really gives it an elegant look. I'm anxious to see the rest of the blocks...and, of course, the finished quilt!

You are fortunate to have a back up. My back up machine, Bernina 185, is so old that I am not sure I can get a design transferred from my laptop to it. You have to use a cable or a reader card and magic box is obsolete. It does not have a USB port, but it does sew quite beautifully so I use it for sewing. You know , you may have been wise to hold on to your embroidery machine instead of trading it in. last year I missed stitching Mother's, Father's Day and 4th of July because my machine was in the shop.
