UPDATE Another prayer request for our prayer warriors. Tuesday, I took my Mom to ER because she had uncontrollable nausea and vomiting so was also dehydrated. She is doing better in that aspect and will probably be discharged tomorrow. But, one of the tests they performed revealed a mass in her abdomen. The doctor said that they do not know what kind it is other that that it is solid (not an abscess) and needs to be biopsied. Because it is surrounded by multiple blood vessels and even has its own blood supply, she has to be off one of her blood thinners for 5 days and the other for 48 hours putting her at risk for blood clots. As of today, the biopsy is scheduled for sometime Monday. Thank you for your prayers and support.
UPDATE The frustrations of health care. Mom was discharged over the weekend. Since she was no longer an inpatient, they would not do the biopsy this past Monday as scheduled????? It know has to be scheduled as an outpatient and who knows when it will be done. Mom saw her primary Dr. today who put the order in, but as she put it, it would have been so much easier for one of the Drs. in the hospital order it because they know what exactly it is that needs to be ordered. So now we sit and wait. The Dr. did say that it most likely is cancer because of the nature of it but without the biopsy, they cannot determine what kind of treatment if any is needed. We did find out that the mass is positioned in the middle of a bifurcation of 3 major blood vessels which is why she has to be off her blood thinners. On the positive note, there does not seem to be any lymph node involvement at this point. Thank you for your continued prayers.
