I purchased designs from a web site. Now if I want the directions or files from them I must join their facebook group. That means I will get the groups posts...which I do not want and I will get requests to friend others of the group...again I do not want that either. I just want the directions. I won't be ordering from them again. Is this process something new? I hope not!! Suzanna

You can join the group, yet mark "no notifications" which means you won't get anything posted on the page.

Sounds like the owner is trying to save some money by moving totally to Facebook.

Probably, it is not a huge site.

I am not good at facebook stuff, but have not heard of this...if you buy something you should get everything you need without having to join anything.......

I agree. I did text the owner but I was not satisfied with her remarks

I tried joining FB for only embroidery sites as my friend directed me to. Immediately all these foreign men popped up wanting to friend me. No way--I found the unsubscribed [which I don't think you really get unsubscribed from anything]. Then I clicked on someone's page giving a freebie away, little did I know it would open into FB again so had to hit unsubscribe again. No social media for me thank you.

There is no "unsubscribe" in Facebook that I know of -- but you can opt to close your account. As long as your account is open, clicking on links that lead to Facebook will log you in again. Unsubscribe is mainly used for email and newsletters.
I am not going to join any groups on Facebook
