I have an opportunity to try out and buy a Brother Duetta 4500D, with 5 million stitches on it. The lady, who lives 2 hours away is asking $2,200.00 for it. My dealer said, if it stitches, I should grab it up. Are any of you familiar with the Duetta? What are your thoughts? This would be a second machine for me replacing an older much smaller one. Thanks!! Laura

5 million stitches on a Brother is really not that big of a number - and I believe that was considered a pretty nice machine. If your dealers says good price (and it stitches well when you try it out) that may help your decision. YOu can also look on e-bay, etc. to see the going rate for that machine to see if it is a good price.

Thanks, you're right, 5 million stitches isn't really that much! I think it is a reasonable price. I will try it out tomorrow!! Thanks again!

My machine only gives time stitched, not stitches. 5 million stitches at 500 per min would make 10,000 min, some 170 hours - I would consider that hardly used.
Good luck trying it!

I decided to get it. So far stitches like a dream! Only the usual's came with it..... hoops, feet, etc., plus some software designs that she never even opened. I would have loved to have had a multiple needle machine - but, just couldn't justify the costs. Thanks so much Kim!!!
