Should I be upset, or should I say "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"?

I hope whoever it is is not receiving any compensation. I get cranky when I see all the designs on Etsy and Pinterest that have obviously been copied. It's not fair! Love Chris

Sorry, Sue. I've seen the keyboard idea repeatedly. Maybe just great minds think alike??

I'd call it flattery as that is healthier than upset. I commonly see copies or small variation in embroidery designs that reflect the orignal. The problem is that I usually have no idea who originated the design.

If you feel upset, you could buy the design and see if it is copied or different in some way. If you feel it was copied, you could ask her to remove it. Which them begs the question: How do you enforce compliance? Disney has a lot of attorneys who enforce their designs. Most of us don't.

So, I still would go with flattered and spare yourself the headache of enforcement.

I am afraid that I would be a little upset. I think you were correct in writing to them. I hope you will get an answer

I say flattery. If not for capitalism we would live in a world of cooperation instead corporation.

I just saw one of my ideas in a design. I will alsways know that I did it first. and I did it using makeshift designs!

yours is great,
but like graceandham wrote, when you look on the internet many bags and designs are based on the piano keys.....and more designers are probably inspired by the subject.
So I hope you are not upset but proud of the ITH project you designed yourself.
