I am hoping that you fantastic ladies can give me some advice. My grandson first of all asked me if I could embroider two numbers on the top of the sleeve. It is very slippery material and lined, so I declined. I have decided to go the applique way and sew out the two numbers and then hand stitch them in place.

My plan is to stiffen the applique material with vilene, then hoop soluble stabilizer, slide a piece of tearaway under the hoop and stitch the numbers out.
Is this going to work? Any ideas would be gratefully received.
I have been asked to embroider the numbers in white.

Yes, that will work Sarah. I've done that before. It gives a really neat finish to the embroidery. Love Chris

Thank you Chris. I will try it out first to see how it goes. Just do not know what material to use that will compliment the jacket

Hi Sarah....Will you be embroidering the numbers in with a white fill stitch or will you use a white material that will be the numbers with a satin stitch around? How big are the numbers?

The numbers will be white material with the satin stitch around. The numbers are about 4 inches high
