Nearly there! I've got 3 more rows of sashing to do, but I've had it for today. I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Once these are all done, then I'll have borders to add etc. Love Chris

I haven't sewn the sashing as yet, as I want to do each row carefully and slowly to make sure the seams all match. Of course to make more work for myself I actually sewed a white side to the navy square and a navy side to the white square, so then I had to make the little connecting piece opposite too! Oh! well, it will look great when all is finished up.

Put your right hand on your left shoulder and put your left hand on your right shoulder and give yourself a big hug. Your result is looking so wonderful. Awesome designs and love the way you laid them out. Almost time for a big REST under it.

Oh my! This is breath taking! I'm so glad you are posting as you go along. Yes, take your time. You should not be in any hurry to finish. Enjoy the process along the way. Quilting is my first love, and I sure enjoy seeing your progress along the way. That's a mighty big table you have there! All the better to see it with!

Thanks Penny, I think it's great for everyone to see the steps taken to put it all together. Quilts are all so individual aren't they? I've made quilts for every member of our family and then some for Amy's friends! Been doing them for years. Actually that table is very small it's only 62x42 inches when extended. When closed the central section folds down and it goes under the table. The actual quilt pieces are laid out on the floor - that is my lino they are laying on. Love Chris

Chris, this is gorgeous. I love your fabric choice. I would not have thought about using the checks/spots, but it really works. You have a great talent for matching design, thread and fabric.

Thanks Coral, luckily it's all the same fabric. I've just put the spotted fabric with the plain white to create the check centres on the sashing. Love Chris

Looking good! So much work, but most of it you have behind you now so smooth sailing to finish. Do you think you will like this QAYG look as well as the longarm quilting? I know you said you usually send your tops out. I do suppose with all the emb stitching this particular top would not have been feasible for the LA.
It is gorgeous and you have done great work.

Thanks Toogie. This isn't a QAYG, just an ordinary quilt. There is no batting (wadding) between the fabric and the stabiliser in this.
You are right though as once I've finished the quilt I send it off to my quilter who puts the batting (wadding) and the backing fabric on it. I do love the long arm quilting stitching on my quilts. Love Chris
