I visited an embroidery site that showcases different designers and I clicked on one that had a huge discount. Oh my!! Even with a more than 60% discount, the designs were still too pricey! The original prices were almost $60!! Am I just a cheapskate? I'm looking for a old-fashioned style of swirls and/or flowers suitable for pillowcases for my girls for Christmas.

No, you are realistic.....How many designs for $60? how many times would you use the same designs....I would not, could not pay that much for one set of designs.

There were about 8 designs in the set for that price, and only two or three would fit the style I was looking for. I understand the tremendous work going into digitizing, but I can' pay that kind of money!

I am with you. Some sites even at 60% off are too expensive. If you are a cheapskate so am I.
check out page 2 on the link. Maybe Miss Veronika has something for you to choose from. Honestly sometimes I forget to check here first.

You are not a cheapskate you are wise. There are many designs that are free or inexpensive. The most I have paid for a single design is $4.00 that was for a present and for a design pack of 7 designs is $15.00. Look in the Kreative Kiwi site, there are a bunch of free designs including one with swirls. Good luck in finding reasonably prices designs.

I have to be very frugal, but I understand the work that goes into digitizing so it's a dilemma. I will look at Kreative Kiwi; I knew when I was searching for designs that I was leaving out some important sites.
