I have just finished this mystery quilt. Our quilt group has been participating in a mystery quilt over the past 6 months. Each month we would get a set of instructions, but had no idea what the finished quilt would look like. I followed the instructions month by month and slowly the quilt has revealed itself. I scaled my quilt down, cutting all the pieces half the size they should be (sometimes not such an easy task). I only used fabric from my stash and I am quite pleased with the finished quilt. The finished size is 1m x 1m or 39" x 39".

WOW Shirley there is no mystery here - you have a wonderful quilt and it sure doesn't look like it came from any stash fabric or you have a whole lot of stash at your place. Hehehe! Wonderful job. *4U

Thanks, Tanuja. Why don't you start a group? *4U
by tanuja 13 Jul 2008
i donot know any body who quilts,or wants to do it. i even thought of driving to nelspriut~(250km)RSA to join the group there but could not do it each month. may be some day i will.

That must be really tough, to not be able to share your hobby - thank goodness for 'Cute'. If there is a public library in Maputo, put a notice on their board looking for people who are interested in crafting? There are also mystery quilts that are done over the internet - maybe that would be an option for you.

Lovely quilt. Your pieces must have been rather tiny, especially the triangles. Lots of work, but what a stunning result.

Thanks, Mops. The triangles are 1" finished along the short sides. *4U

Just beautiful Shirley. No one can complain about your fabric stash when it turns out quilts like this. Mystery quilt sounds like fun and they all still turn out different.

This is beautiful, a lot of hard work and time has gone into it. You have done a brilliant job. It must have been exciting as you were putting the pieces together and then to scale down the size. The picture looks like it is full size and imagine what it would be like even to a queen size bed. This is very creative and I love all of it you have done a faboulous job. Thank you for sharing.
