WHAT A BUMMER! I've got Aqualina here with me today as she is off school. A perfect time to finish off her dress as she needed a size 12 bodice! She's only 8! I had already made the size 8 so I'll keep the bodice for Delphi, as I don't think it will fit Ophelie who is also 8. Mind you because Aqualina is a gymnast and a good swimmer I think she'll always be broader across her back!

Anyway, half way through the final sewing of the sash, my machine starts playing up! I've only had it since August! So I've given up for the day and will pop into Thorpe's tomorrow. I've got the Brother sewing machine but as I've got to get the other kids from school in only an hour or so, I'll leave it till later this arvo.

In the meantime Aqualina loves it and it fits beautifully. I'll do some more covered buttons too as I think it sets off the dress beautifully. Love Chris

1. Aqualina's dress - unfinished sash and I've yet to sew the buttons on the back. You can see Jasana's hanging up behind hers.
This dress pattern is the Posey dress by Ainslee Fox dress patterns Australia.

UPDATE: I finished the dress and decided to add side sash holders so the sash won't slide down. Very pleased with my effort!

Her dress is beautiful, and we all have days such as yours. It seems to me the busier I get, the more stuff comes up and errors I can make. Now where did that green vinyl go? ? that is my current dilema. Lol!

Thanks Chris, I hope you've found your vinyl by now. I love putting things away in my cupboard and then have fun finding them later in the year!!!!!!!!!!!! Love Chris

Gorgeous dress. Sorry about the fitting dilemma. Those girls (our granddaughters) grow quickly and in the next very short years we are going to see more of that than we want. They will all look so adorable in the dresses. You are a talented seamstress.

Thanks Jerrilyn, yes, the girls are growing up too fast. Jasana is already wearing little crop top bra things and I wouldn't be surprised if she gets her first proper bra in the near future! Love Chris

Hi Kim, thanks for commenting. Are you making dresses for all your great-nieces for Christmas this year?

The girls are going to look gorgeous in their dresses Chris. How frustrating to have machine problems. My machine is acting up too. I've been fiddling with it but I think I am going to have to take it in. Don't really want to at Christmas time though. Oh well....

Yes, it's frustrating for it to happen now, but I finished the dress last night on my Brother sewing machine. I'll just go to my local shops today and get some self covered buttons and then those two are out of the way. I've still Ophelie's dress to do but hers is in the red and white fabric like Delphi's dress. Good luck with your machine and I hope you can get it fixed asap. Love Chris

The bottom picture is the true colour of the dress. The other picture makes it look almost yellow. Love Chris
